The Ball in the Halls is a black-tie event that raises money for the YMCA’s Guardian Program, helping those in need participate in YMCA programs and membership. The 1st annual ball also marked the opening of a new facility, the "Halls," which were transformed into a ballroom, with a live auction, and martini lounge.
Of all my initial sketches, this tuxedo stood out, being both elegant and fun. We worked through many variations in an effort to stay connected with the brand while not infringing on the Y symbol itself. Invitations were sent out in "YMCA red" envelopes.
Banners spelling YMCA, created in Illustrator, were printed individually and used as life-sized stage props for employee team-building events.
