This interface, created in the early days of Macromedia Director, was designed to be a browser for a library of multimedia assets. The client wanted something familiar, easy to use, and fun, that would house and organize his company's music, art, and video. A jukebox with CD jackets seemed a natural fit. Below, a sample from the client's original plans, showing how content would be displayed within the interface.
I painted this retro jukebox in Photoshop, and set up the basic animation steps in Director... colored lights and jackets that flipped. Media Magic's pogrammers added functionality to the shell and pulled content into the jackets.
